Flat battery and going nowhere?

Stop cranking it — repeated attempts flatten the battery further and can damage the starter. Call the line and we will get a unit to you.

What we cover

What Our Battery Jump Start Service Covers

A flat battery and a dead battery look identical from the driver's seat. We start the vehicle, then tell you which one you actually have.

Cars & Small Vehicles

Petrol, diesel and hybrid cars started with proper leads and a booster pack, not a cheap set of clamps.

Call for a jump start

Vans & Light Commercials

Panel vans, Lutons and minibuses with larger batteries and higher cranking demands, started with the right kit.

See van recovery

Twin-Battery & Commercial

Vehicles running two batteries in series or parallel, started without putting the electronics at risk.

Talk to a controller

Stop-Start & AGM Batteries

Modern stop-start systems use AGM and EFB batteries that need a careful jump. We do it the way the manufacturer intends.

Call the line

EV & Hybrid 12V Batteries

An electric car with a flat 12V battery will not unlock, wake or even charge. We jump the 12V side so the car comes back to life.

Batteries That Will Not Hold

If it starts and dies again, the battery or the alternator has gone. We tell you which, and recover it if you need us to.

Simple, fast, no fuss

How Our Battery Jump Start Works

Four steps from the moment you call to the moment you are running again. No apps, no membership, no waiting on hold.

1

Call Or WhatsApp

Ring the 24/7 line or send a WhatsApp message. A real controller answers, not a queue.

2

Tell Us What It Does

Make, model and what happens when you turn the key. Clicking, slow cranking and dead silence all mean different things.

3

We Confirm And Dispatch

We confirm the price and a realistic time, then send a unit with the right leads and booster pack.

4

Started And Tested

We start the vehicle, let it charge and tell you whether the battery will get you home or needs replacing.

Why drivers call us

Why Choose Premier Recovery For A Jump Start In London

We are a recovery operator, not a call centre selling your job on. When you ring, you speak to the people who send the unit — and that is why the answers you get are straight ones.

Genuinely 24/7

Batteries go flat on cold mornings and after long nights. Our line is answered around the clock, weekends and bank holidays included.

Proper Kit, Not Jump Leads

Booster packs and correct leads, used the way modern electronics require. A bad jump can cost far more than the call-out.

We Tell You Why

Battery, alternator or something else entirely. You get a straight answer, not just a push and a wave.

Recovery If It Fails Again

If the battery will not hold charge, the same visit can turn into a recovery rather than a second call-out.

Price Agreed Upfront

You are told what the call-out costs before we set off. No meters running, no surprise invoice at the kerbside.

London Based, UK Wide

Strong coverage across Greater London plus Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Devon, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

Every kind of flat battery

Battery Problems We Attend Every Day

What the vehicle does when you turn the key tells us most of what we need to know. These are the calls that come in most often.

Nothing At All On The Key

No lights, no click, no crank. Usually a completely flat or failed battery, or a bad terminal connection.

Clicking But Not Turning

A rapid click with the dashboard lights dimming means there is not enough current to spin the starter.

Slow, Laboured Cranking

The engine turns over but will not catch. Common on cold mornings and on cars used only for short runs.

Lights Left On Overnight

Interior lights, headlights or a boot light left on will flatten a perfectly healthy battery in a few hours.

Started, Then Died Again

If it cuts out shortly after a jump, the alternator is usually not charging and the vehicle needs recovering.

Stood For Weeks Or Months

Cars that have not moved since a holiday or a winter lay-up often need more than a quick jump.

Straight answers on price

What Affects The Cost Of A Jump Start Call-Out

Every call-out is quoted individually. These are the five things a controller will ask about before giving you a price.

Location

How far a unit has to travel to reach you.

Time Of Day

Overnight, weekend and bank holiday call-outs are priced differently.

Vehicle Type

Larger commercial and twin-battery vehicles take more time and more kit.

What Is Needed

A jump start alone, a jump plus a battery check, or a jump plus recovery.

Access

Underground car parks, tight streets and gated estates take longer.

No surprises. You get a clear figure on the phone before a unit is dispatched, and that is the figure you pay. If the battery turns out to be dead rather than flat and the vehicle needs recovering, you are told the cost of that before we do it.

Before we arrive

What To Do While You Wait For A Jump Start

A few small things make the call-out quicker, and one or two of them will save the battery.

  • Stop cranking — repeated attempts flatten the battery further and can damage the starter
  • Switch off headlights, heating, heated seats and anything charging from a socket
  • Pull as far off the road as you safely can and put your hazard lights on
  • Note where the battery sits — some are in the boot or under a seat, not the engine bay
  • Have the keys with you, plus the wheel-lock key if the vehicle has one
  • If you are in a car park, find out the level and any height restriction

Thinking of a bump start or a DIY jump?

Be careful. Bump starting will not work on an automatic and can damage a catalytic converter, and a badly connected jump lead can take out an ECU that costs far more than the call-out. If the vehicle is a hybrid, an EV or has a stop-start system, leave it to a unit with the right equipment.

Call The Recovery Line

Once we are on the way, a controller can stay on the line if you would rather not wait alone.

Common questions

Battery Jump Start FAQs

The questions our controllers are asked most often. If yours is not here, ring the line and ask.

Will a jump start definitely get me going?

Often, yes, but not always. A flat battery that is otherwise healthy will start and then charge as you drive. A battery that has failed internally, or an alternator that is not charging, will not hold. We check it after the jump and tell you honestly which one you are dealing with.

How long does it take?

The jump itself takes a few minutes. Getting to you is the variable, and that depends on where you are and the time of day. A controller gives you a realistic time on the call rather than a headline figure.

Can you jump start a hybrid or an electric car?

Yes. Hybrids and EVs have a conventional 12V battery that wakes the car up, and when it goes flat the car will not unlock, start or even charge. We jump the 12V side. The high-voltage traction battery is never touched.

Do you supply and fit batteries?

Tell the controller the make and model when you call and we will confirm what can be done on the visit. Where a battery cannot be supplied on the spot, we start the vehicle and recover it to a garage of your choice.

My car started, then died again straight away. What does that mean?

Usually the alternator is not charging, so the engine was running on whatever the jump put into it. In that case the vehicle needs recovering rather than jumping a second time, and we can do that on the same visit.

Can you reach me in an underground car park?

In most cases, yes. Tell the controller the car park, the level and any height restriction when you call so we send equipment that fits.

Is it safe to bump start my car instead?

Not usually. Bump starting does not work on an automatic, can damage a catalytic converter and is dangerous on a live road. If your car has stop-start, a hybrid system or an EV drivetrain, do not attempt it at all.

Do I need breakdown cover or a membership?

No. There is no membership, no annual fee and no policy number needed. You call, we quote, and you pay for the call-out you actually need.

Do you cover jump starts at night and on bank holidays?

Yes. The line is answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Out-of-hours call-outs are priced differently and you are told the figure before anything is dispatched.

Why does my battery keep going flat?

Usually one of four things: short journeys that never fully recharge it, a battery near the end of its life, a light or accessory left on, or a parasitic drain from an aftermarket fitting. Cold weather makes all of them worse. If it keeps happening, the battery and charging system need testing properly.
